They have their own place in tying,
Greetings Tony!
Fly tying vises are almost getting like golf clubs and fly rods-- you gotta have one for every different shot... :-) I began tying on an old Thompson B(not the A, but the B), and when I blew that one up after about 15 years I got a Regal 360. About ten years later, Ed Story talked me into taking the true rotary plunge, and I got a Renzetti Master. In retrospect, I think I would have been happier with the Dyna-king Barracuda, but the Renzetti Master has served me well. Last Saturday I watched a guy tie on a Norlander, and that's sure got my curiosity up... :-) Next month I'll have the chance to watch Norm himself on one which I'm looking forward to. Interesting yes, approved by "headquarters," unfortunately, I doubt it... :-(
Happy tying!
