I just got a little book of fly tying tips called "Fly Tying Tips Reference Book," by
Dick Stewart, which is also the least expensive fly tying book I've ever seen.

He has a neat technique for making the little discs for this fly. You use one of
those rotary hole punches, that have several different size punchers on a wheel, lthat
cost less than $10. The punch is useful around the house for other things as well.

You take a slice off a cork, or some foam, and pick the size disc you want and punch.
It cuts very clean, and needs no sanding.

Poke a hole in the discs, connect with monofiliment, and burn the ends to create
little balls. If you press on the still warm end with the side of the lighter, the
ball will flatten.
