Hi Gang, for all of you who asked, here is my opinion of the little Renzetti "look alike" vise.

Finally received my Renzetti "look alike" in today's mail. It was postmarked Feb. 21. Twelve days from Salt Lake. USPS!!!
I've set the vise up and tried hooks from size 6 to 22 and find that it holds equally well. The rotational feature is as good as any rotary I've seen and the shank of the hook stays in alignment throughout the 360 degrees. It also has a "lock" feature that will hold the hook in any position desired. It's stainless steel and aluminum and all parts work very smoothly, not at all like some lower dollar vises I've owned, (i.e. loose fittings and roughness in turning, etc.).

It has two opposing thumb screws in the jaws instead of a cam, but I do not care for cams anyway, what with my arthritic thumbs. Hard to squeeze the cam lever. The base is plenty "hefty" and the post fits nicely into it. To put it bluntly, I'm impressed with the price, but more importantly the excellent materials, machining and smoothness of operation. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best rating I'd give, I rate it a 9. I'd rate it a 10, but there is no bobbin holder included, but that's no problem for I machined my own.

If you want to know more about this little vice, please contact me OFF LIST.

Cheers,

JIMMY D
