Randy, IMHO the neoprene's are great for cold winter fishing and fishing in float tubes where you are sitting in the water, but come summer time on a stream and you have to stand waist deep in the water not to overheat. The Gore-Tex or other styles of breathables are good for exactly that reason, they are lighter and more comfortable in hot weather when wet wading is out of the question (i.e. very cold water). You can layer under the breathables in winter time to stay warm.
