-- Corn is not a complete food for anyone. Or any critter. If corn, particularly modern corn, is fed exclusively, there will be a protein shortage in the diet. Without reading the package, I would guess that the trout pellets have complete nutrition.
By saying not complete nutrition, I mean that there are some missing amino acids in corn. These missing amino acids must be supplied from some other food source, vegetable or meat, for the corn to allow full growth. The trout were malnurished, not because of passing the corn, which we all know about, but because of the deficiancy in the corn itself. Besides, any farmers out there see flocks of trout flopping into their fields and stripping the ears? We just don't allow it 'round these parts.
