Subject: [VFB] Jody's Breast Surgery Update

Hi VFB'ers and FFW'ers, I don't want to clutter up the lists, but so
many of you asked for me to let you know how Jody's surgery went, that
I felt it best to answer on list.

Jody is doing fine. We got home around 1:00 p.m. She slept most of the
afternoon, woke up hungry and feels pretty good. The tumor was small -
1.4 centimeters. Doc did a Sentinel lymph node biopsy with the blue
dye and removed and biopsyed only one Sentinel node, with no further
nodes having to be removed. That was great news. We were afraid the
cancer might have migrated to the nodes. In fact, I gave our Doc a big
hug.

I leave tomorrow around noon going to Mississippi, to inter Mom's ashes
in the Family plot in Kirkville, Miss. All our children and grand
children are also going. My youngest daughter's husband who was having
a hard time getting off work tomorrow, will drive up after work
tomorrow, with grandson Kellen and stay with Jody until we get back
Sunday night. Our doc said Jody could make the trip if she wanted, but
we chose not to do that. 11 hours sitting in a car with seatbelt on on
way over, then the funeral and 11 hours back seemed like a little much.
Jody looks surprisingly good and the Doc said that she's rebound from
her surgery much quicker than I did from the hernia.

My undying thanks to the Lists for your prayers and words of
encouragement. It meant very, very, very much to Jody, and me. She
also sends her thanks and has been totally amazed at the outpouring of
prayers and support.

Best Personal Regards,

JIMMY D
