Just returned an hour or so ago from the FLYFISHING SHOW held in
Ontario, Ca. yesterday & today...
In a short statement....IT WAS HUGH SUCCESS!!!!!! Lotsa folks coming
thru both days & a fairly good cross section of exhibitors. Lotsa big
name folks doing casting demos & giving presentations.
I meet up with CHRIS BROOMELL for the first time since I met him
via the VFB... All around great Guy!!!!! We shared a motel room
together last night So we chatted about this & that...of course
mostly we talked Flyfishing & Fly Tying.
Chris & myself shared a tying table on Tyer's Row... alot of great
Local & reknown tying talent on that stretch of tables...
Met CHRIS R. as well, Chris R. & his wife are great folks and we all
shared some great conversation whilst Chris B. & Myself tyed flies...
I sold about $80 worth of Surf Flies... certianly proof that this
area of Fly Fishing is growing steadily in the Southern California
area.. I actually have about 5 or 6 folks wanting to get together
with myself for Surf Fishing Lessons. One actually had emailed me
earlier today & wanted to start arranging time to hit the Surf and
get going with the fun....
Have no fear Byard, Chris B. & myself selflessly promoted the VFB
as much as we felt comfortable doing... I'm certian that Chris
promoted more so then myself....but I'd feel certian you should
notice an increase in Email subscriptions....
All & All a GREAT WEEKEND!!!! this is the First "THE FLYFISHING
SHOW" done in the Los Angeles Area...but it was a great success, so
next year will be that much better.... I'm already going to contact
Chuck Furminsky about tying at next year's show...don't want to miss
out on the fun of the whole event...
Only down side of the event was that they misspell my last name; my
name placard over the table i tyed at read DEAN ANDRESS...but a
sharpie Marker, a sheet of Paper & some Scotch tape fixed it the
correct spell. Oh well, everyone felt it very funny that they
misspelled it, including myself...
