Hey Rene,

He was using a flyrod and doing the time honored tradition of chumming the fish. You
can't do what he was doing in Alberta. Chumming/attracting fish is fairly common
among coarse fisherman in the UK. Some coarse fisherman even use slingshot gadgets to
distribute the attractant. I remember watching a guy launch a meal worm dough ball
via slingshot. It smelled awful.

You'll see people use corn in the same manner in the Mid-West at the put and take
ponds. Carp fishers also use doughballs in the same manner in parts of the Mid-West.

Cheers,

Alberta Al

Subject: [VFB] Tench On The Fly

List,
as we are talking about carp on the fly.

Does anybody read the Article about ff for tench and rudd in tha June 2002
Issue of ff&ft written by John Goddard?

He used a 'bread fly' (Hook) with some white marabou or oistrich plume.
Looking at the picture I could see some bread floating on the water while he
was playing a tench? He used it to feed the fish. Is this flyfishing?
Rene
