Check out Helen Shaw's book," Fly-Tying, Materials-tools;technique" and
compare the pictures she has of her technique with those of Don..see pages
95-104.  Granted, her thread was not waxed as ours is, so she had to wax it
first but the way she did the dubbing looks the same. . Her book was
published in 1968. Just for fun, check it out and see what you think. Joyce
