Harry, I promised myself that I was done with this thread but you've made me break that promise. This however IS my last.
1. Biots were being used long before the Harrops started using them. 2. There is no difference at all between using a stripped peacock herl for a segmented body and using a biot. Simply using a different material in a standard way isn't innovation. That's like saying that the first tier to wrap chenille, or tinsel, or mohair or ..... was an innovator. 3. Although I'm not suggesting a poll, I'd be willing to wager that no more than 10% of the list has a single fly in their box with a wrapped biot (or will 50 years from now); whereas I'd also wager that 80% of the trout fishers have at least one fly with a parachute hackle (and will 50 years from now) --- that was an innovation!
