Part 3

Spend the afternoon at Tony's home. I gave me a great insight in a lots of
things. We ran through rod building, bamboo, he showed me the Twisted Miss,
a great experimental rod. Flying, Tying and so many other things.

And he gave me a "hillibilly brown trout" to ensure that I get at least one
brown trout.

I met Dennis Conrad (Conranch hackle) and again learned a lot new stuff
about hackle.

Met a lot of people, At the afternoon we went to a resteraunt and had a
nice dinner. I had Fish, Chicken and Shrimps. FlyFishers combination.

Next morning Start tying st the show. I'm sitting between Jimi and Jerry
Wulffe. Jimi has a great quote: "I'm alive, that beats all other options."

Tying, tying, tying, meeting friends and making new ones. I guess the two
days at the sowbug had been well covered by Tony, Jimi und Dough.

Friday evening great BBQ at the Ramada and lots of fun at the table. The
company of the other VFB'ler was priceless. Sorry to all who missed it. Have
still a huge collection of flies and other goodies on my desk. Have to frame
them, and probably a webtite for sharing.

After the show to Tony's home, could not resist going to 'feesh'. Not enough
time to jump into the wader. Tried from Tony's dock. Caught one little
rainbow on a dry. Great dinner at Tomy's home. (Not the fish!)

Next day I was up very early, river was down. Jumped into the waders before
breakfast. Water was cold, below freezing. First steps into the White were
through breaking ice.

Later some guides with boats full of fishermen went through disturbing water
and relax. No fish at the end, but discovered the holes in the bottom of the
river Tony mentioned. Breakfast and off to Tony. Again fishing in the river,
lot's of wind made casting difficult. Managed to catch 2 fish. On the
afternoon again out with Dennis.
Rising fish everywhere, Dennis caught 4, me nothing. He had some success
with caddis, I tried different stuff. Was amazing to see all the rings.

To say byebye was hard, all I can say is a huge 'Dankeschoen'. I had a great
time, and I'm unable to write down all what I saw, listened to and could
share. I promise to return.

What remains? A great friendship, the awareness that I was unable to spend
enough time with all the VFB'ler which were there. Fortunately all were at
my desk, I could'nt manage to spend the time I wished at their tables. But
anyhow it was a bit of a beginning as well. cu

I skip the travel back, Byard would push me from the list.
