I wrote earlier about the Owens trip, I left out a very important
detail. I mentioned about my bride not liking to wade at all. She had a
bad experience in whitewater quite a few years back and DOES NOT wade
running water. Together though she and I made our way across the Owens.
The water was running fairly fast and a little above our knees. We
locked arms and made our way across, I was way proud of her overcoming
her fears and trusting me enough to make the attempt. Once we got across
the fun started, We had about 150 feet of a run to fish and fish we did.
I spent a large part of the time just standing behind her offering help
when needed and netting and unhooking her fish. What a great time! After
she got comfortable we both were fishing the run 20 feet apart ... cast,
cast, step, step, cast, cast, step, step. I had one of the best fishing
trips of my life.
