We've got quite a few nice streams around here.  Many are within an hours drive from Monroeville.  The better ones are father east toward the center of the state (Spruce Creek) The closest might be either Pine Creek in the North Hills area, but if you spare the hour drive, the Loyalhanna in Ligonier is great.  If you think smallmouth bass are fun, at Exit 5 of the Turnpike you can get to the bottom of Lock 3 dam on the Allegheny River.

As for weather, who knows ; I would definitely plan for it to be cool.  Yesterday the high was near 70, but supposedly by tomorrow its back in the low 40's.

The best shop around (my humble opinion) is the International Angler, on Freeport Road in Aspinwall, probably about a half hour drive from Monroeville.   There is one in Murrysville, but its a smaller shop, with more clothing and gifts than tackle.

You can get more info on them, as well as local water conditions at their website :  www.int-angler.com/  If you call them, they'd be happy to give you directions, I'm sure.

Happy traveling, and best regards,
