I think I have my overheating problem cured. When I opened the sides on my tower, I was surprised that there was no fan for the hard drive. NADA! The only fan anywhere was the small one on the back that cooled the 300V power supply. Went down to CompUSA and bought a Tornado MAXX F5, 5700 rpm - 84.1 CFM fan and mounted it into the tower, blowing directly up through the vent holes on the bottom of the HD housing. Really neat. The little fan had three different connectors attached to it. And, there was a fan connection hanging down from the HD, so all I had to do was pick the right connector. Amazing. If that'd been a boat motor, auto or something similar, I'd probably have had to put an adaptor on it. I'd say the computer techs plan ahead!
