After you have your fins on and are in the tube in shallow water turn around an back into deeper water. That way if you should happen to fall you will fall into the tube instead of out of it. Also make sure that the seat strap is fasten if yours has one. With a little practice with the fins kicking you will have some excellent fishing experiences. The cold water will cause the air to shrink and also hot weather will cause it to expand. I think you should keep it tight so water doesn't build up inside the cover. I think an anchor is a good idea also. I seldom use one but if the wind gets too strong it helps to anchor and when it lets up a little you can make progress.
