Updated status of Tom Nixon pattern Fly swap as of 12:10 pm CDT 6/19/03:
Mark Delaney - pattern undecided
Allan Fish - Calcasieu Pigboat
Jerff Frye - Cajun Coachman
Dan Gober - Mickey Brim
Shawn Kennedy - ??
Ed Roden - Crappie Mickey
Bruce Whittle - Arkansas Cajun Coachman
Rick Zeiger - .56%er
If the swap doesn't get too big, Allan Fish suggested that we tie 3 extra flies - one for the aucton, one for the shadow box and a third set for Byard. It looks like the due date will be September 15, 2003. I know that there are other warmwater flyfisherman out there...please consider participating in this swap. I'd like the number of participants to get to 12 to 15. Hoping to see a few more sign up....
Thanks & see below for more information.

Previously posted info:
As I posted earlier to the list, Tom Nixon, a pioneer in flytying and flyfishing for bass and panfish passed away on May 29th. Our local fly club (Contraband Fly Casters, Tom Nixon Chapter) holds a yearly conclave (dates are variable, from September through February are possible). Tom tied and gave demonstrations for free at every one of these conclaves in Lake Charles. I'd like to host this swap of his fly patterns and ask that the participants tie 2 (now 3)extra flies. One set would be for a shadow box for the club, and the other set to be auctioned off (and the third set to Byard). A list of some of the patterns Tom developed is below. If needed I can provide a scan of the finished fly and directions for tying any of these patterns.
