If it's any consolation, our email has been screwed up as well. Not sure if it is just a couple of balky mail servers or whether the problem is more widespread.
Also, we have similar problems with the VFB messages. I have been getting some as much as 1-1/2 days after they were originally sent by someone to the list.
One of my clients reported AOL email was also in bad shape. Took them 15 minutes to download 20 messages.
Sometimes this sluggish behavior happens when a major virus outbreak occurs and system administrators err on the side of caution in allowing 'suspect' messages to get past their filters. Currently the Bugbear Worm is making the rounds, and it is a particularly nasty piece of code.
