Sleepy list!

Here's a little bit of a diversion, an article by a San Francisco Chronicle writer about fishing at one of my favorite haunts, Sugar Creek Ranch (a client) in northern California. This article really isn't so much about flyfishing as friendship, and the whole piece really comes off with a different slant.

In other news: campers are trying to burn down the forest around the south shores of Davis Lake in the Deschutes and Klamath National Forest (Oregon) today. The fire has reached a Class 2 and has caused the evacuation of the East and West Davis Lake campgrounds. There are high winds in the area today, and Bend skies are filled with smoke even though Davis Lake is 60 miles SW.

Davis Lake is a flyfishing only water about 1.5 x 3 miles in size that has really fallen onto hard times over the last three years or so due to fisheries mismanagement, drought, and now fire.

Here's a link to an earlier article online this morning while the fire was still small.
