Gary, I don't rightly remember. I tied the flies many moons ago, looked for some hooks which had a similar set of proportions to the drawings in the Quill Gordon book. Snipped off the eye and part of the shank, and tied in a gut loop. Sorry I cannot be of more assistance. Cheers, Hans W
