Don't know if this was mentioned before.Make sure you keep your initial date of purchase for your
fly rods (wise for all stuff). Orvis is now replacing rods that
are sent in for repair with new rods (date is located above
grip). For rods manufactured after January 2003, there will be a nominal handling charge of $30 for any
repairs or replacements. This was not your original 'free 25 year' guarantee but a new guarantee 25 years
plus $30 for your "new" rod if you ever send it back................
