Wes, it's amazing how many Oregon and Washington license plates I see here in Texas.  Washington, I can understand, what with M'Soft and other computer oriented industries.  Austin has long been billed "the silicon valley of the south" and Houston is getting that way too. People go where available jobs and promotions take them.   But Oregon plates are a little harder to figure. I think most of the Oregonians come down here to see what all the fuss about TEXAS is, and some are visiting relatives or going to the Texas coast.  Two friends of mine who moved here from Oregon, stayed a couple of years and then went back.  Didn't like the heat of Texas summers.  You're right, Col and NM tend to look at Texans as unwelcome interlopers, especially those who come up to hunt and fish.   The fishing is understandable, since we have only one trout stream in the whole state, but Texas has some of the best whitetail deer hunting in the country and also Elk in the Big Bend country and private ranches.

Hi Jimmy,

I am a Colorado native, so am mentally prepared for the onslaught!

You'll get a similar discussion to California/Oregon when talking to a
Coloradan about Texans, as you know. *g*

Wonder how many other love/hate relationships there are betwen two states
in the country?

Wes
