---I read a review of a Marmish Fishing System somewhere, and at the price (about
$20.00) thought I'd try it. It came last week, and I didn't get out to use it until
today.

The rod is based on an ice fishing rig: 9 inches long, with a 4 inch strike indicator
on the end.

There's a picture of it on http://www.marmish.ca/index.html

They recommend their own little bitty lures (size 14-18) maggots, scuds, etc. I tied
up some bead scuds as well. I also tied on a PTN.

I went down to the local river on a pier and started in. In 1/2 hour I caught 26 blue
gills, all over 8 inches, and some up to 12 inches. The gold bead scud and the PTN
caught the most fish.

Technigue: lower the bottom lure to the bottom (you can tell because the strike
indicator isn't bent under the weight) and then lift it up about three inches. Bounce
it around a bit, and there's suddenly a fish on. Sometimes two.

I thouroughly enjoyed it.
