Good story, tell her Amanda is 12 and almost the "Real" pro in the group

Hi Gang,

You may remember last week when my niece Melissa got her first
tying lesson. This weekend I got a report from her mom that they
went fishing on Thursday, and while heading to the lake Joan
stopped and said she was going to buy some worms.
"Worms??!!?...", said Melissa, "Mom, worms are for kids."
Nonetheless, Joan got some for herself while Melissa explained
(at some length) how the fish really preferred insects, that they
would eat terrestrials insects and aquatic insects, that beetles
were one of the largest families of bugs, and by the way, any
bugs that fish eat are safe for people to eat too.

Joan wasn't expecting such an earful but took it in good stride.
So when the time came for the first fish on Melissa's beetle,
amid all the excitement while Joan was releasing the fish, uh oh,
where's the beetle?... Gone! Luckily I had given her a bunch of
other flies, but mom was in the doghouse. Melissa said, "You
know, I worked long and hard on that fly!"

Even though mom was chastised, Joan assured Melissa that life
would go on, so they caught several more fish together and
Melissa agreed that she wouldn't start eating bugs until she was
as old as her uncle.
