Yea, that's the real nice seeming guy from that series with Leroy (last name?). I met Leroy once at the Somerset, N.J. Fly Fishing Show. He gave me a Goddard Caddis. The two of them used to tye out back of someone's house in that little shack, right? I have a video series of some of that stuff. If it's the same guy he always seemed real old fashioned and funny in a real nice way. I wonder if he realized what a sense of humor he had? Can someone let me know if i'm thinking of the same guy? Thank you, mark j. romero(willowhead) www.JazzMarkGallery.com

I had never met Dave in person, but have exchanged e-mail on numerous occasions...sad news indeed

----------

Gene Trump has posted to the main Flyshop.com board that Dave Engerbretson
passed away today.

"I have very sad news for me personally and the fly fishing community in
general. Dave Engerbretson passed away today after battling diabetes and a
heart condition for years. Dave was a dear friend of mine that I met on the
Internet. We called or e-mailed each other on a daily basis.
Dave Engerbretson was a fly anglers angler. An outdoor writer, field editor
for FFM, photographer, casting instructor, master rod builder and co-host
of a PBS fly tying series. He was also a loving father and one of the best
fishing friends you could ever have.

There is now a large hole in my world. Dave talked to me a day or so ago
and promised he?d meet me on the other side so
I should be sure and bring my rod. ...his usual sense of humor even toward
the end.

I miss him already and have a tough time accepting he is gone."

Datus Proper...Dave...damn

Jason
