The fish don't know what thin skin is either . Like every other fly I know there are alternate methods of tying. When I tie a Copper John I just use a piece of pearl mylar tinsel, and pull it up and over the Peacock herl. Pearl Mylar can be purchased at any fly shop in sizes small, medium and large. At Christmas you can buy the same stuff sold as icicles, and have a life time supply.
what an amazing fly the copper john but I don't know what thin skin is or where to buy it I have most of the stuff to build this fly but no thin skin please help by explaining this stuff to me thank you very much
