Sorry..I never use thin skin..never have. I've tied these with a piece of holographic clear flash over the top..the kind you get at Christmas time like clear icicles for decorating Christmas trees. Then I use a piece of clear shiny plastic baggie over that and finish it off with Sally's Hard as Nails instead of epoxy..fishes great..no extra materials and the fish take it great.  You can also, if you are lazy or need these in a hurry, just make them with the clear holographic flash and no baggie and you can make the tail and legs of pheasant tail much like a Sawyer's pheasant tail emerger. IN fact, the first ones of these that I got from the fly shop as patterns, were tied in just this manner. Good luck..improvise and substitute. The trout won't care. Joyce
