Del -

I use a WF6F on my 5 wt. and a DT5F on the same rod (no, not at the same time). I feel the WF6F line loads the rod better than a WF5F, however the DT5F line loads the rod the same as the WF6F. I attribute this to the fact that I generally make fairly long casts (50' - 60') and the DT line at that distance is somewhat heavier than a WF at the same distance. I may be wrong, but it seems to work for me.

How can I improve the slickness on my lines for better shootability?? I clean them after each trip, and keep them indoors when not in use.
Also, what can I expect to happen when I overline by one weight?? I recently acquired a WF6F line and put it on my 5 wt rod. should it cast about the same? Longer? Harder? More splash on pickup? more splash on contact with the water?
Please lend me the wisdom of the list!!
