I've found that Larry's switching to smaller flies is absolutely correct when it comes to the Provo River..I have yet to fish a size 10 fly and have the trout take it (except a woolly bugger) but 16, 18 and 20's are the ones that work. Could it be that fish have seen the big flies so much that they can see and discern them readily, but that their eyesight is poorer for smaller bugs so they are more willing to eat them? Inquiring minds want to know.
