Hey Del;

I look at it like this:

People who have jobs, get jobs. People who don't have jobs, don't get jobs.

Just like Mark says, you don't have to explain any gaps in employment.
I see that you are not like my husband-in-law who won't get a job that only pays 'x' amount because he is worth
'y' amount. Some income is better than no income. (To normal folks, that is!)

Again like Mark said, keep looking for the job/career that you want while working your present job. You will find just the right path to take in the near future, I am sure.

Congrats on your present job, good luck on your future career.

Del,

Don't give up looking for the job/career that fits you. The good news, you're employed. The good news, you can look for other work while still being employed, if you're not happy doing what you're doing. The good news, you don't have to explain to a prospective employer about the gap in your work history.

I went through the same thing when my family and I were separated from the Air Force back in '92. Took a bunch of jobs until I got hired with one that I really wanted to do. It looks good to a prospective employer that you kept working, even at something you don't necessarily want to do for the rest of your life. Shows a good work ethic.

Keep the chin up my friend. Good things will come to those that look for them.

Mark

List,
Well, I found a new job. In fact I have been there for four days now. I now work for Springs Industries in their ware house. I load and unload trucks by hand. Pay isn't bad, $8.50 an hour.

If at first you don't succeed, maybe you shouldn't try sky diving!
