Leather thimbles are found in any quilting shop..usually hanging on the wall near the pins and special quilting rulers. You can find them in fabric shops that cater to quilters and most just plain fabric shops.  They are a specialty item used by quilters to help hang on to the needle..it gets very "slippery" as one quilts.  Joyce
