I tied up a few little (size 12) boobie flies last night using various colors of Kreinik braids for the tail and body all in one piece. After wrapping the body and tying it off, I frayed out the tail. This stuff sparkles, and the effect is amplified under water.
The fish beat 'em up no matter what color. The Kreinik stuff is metallic over some sort of acrylic. I've become obcessed with it. This braid, frayed up, makes great wings: tie in two little strips of braid, and fray them seperately and voila! Works great for Wulff type flies.
