I also agree with the different colors being used, but wouldn't there also be a difference with the weather conditions.  Whether it's sunny or overcast? I've had times where the fish wouldn't touch a fly until the sun broke through the clouds and as soon as the clouds blocked it, the fish shut down as if the switch was turned off.
Just a thought
