This pattern is probably closer to the one in the old Herter's book:
Lightening Bug Wet Flies
Thread: Black, pre-waxed
Hook: Mustad 3906B, sizes 10-12
Tail: Black goose biot
Abdomen: Pink, orange or yellow fluorescent yarn or chenille, also silver
sparkle chenille can be used.
Thorax: Small black chenille
Hackle: Black hackle feather
