If anyone is interested in why fish bite, get a
copy of The Way of the Trout by M.R. Montgomery. It is in interesting
read and contains several insites into what causes fish to bite. I know they
will sample things out of curiosity. When I used to float fish for winter
steelhead in B.C. on many occasions I have had a fish come up and take the
float.
