William,

I normally only fish a single fly on a river. Rarely I will use a second
fly and if so I tie in dropper on the line dirctly and attach my dry fly or
nymph here. with a nymph on the point. I have seen and read about securing
mono to the bend in a hook for fishing a nymph below a dry fly but this is
so alien to me I have never tried it.

Do you fish with multiple flies in the stream? How do you set it up and
cast the rig?

Subject: [VFB] Furled Leaders - Direct Swap

Hi,

I was given a furled leader from someone in Winged Dry Fly Swap about a
year
or so ago. I'm not sure who, but thank you very much. I was hoping to
get
a few more of these and to be truthful I don't think I would have the
time
to try make them myself at the moment. Would anyone be interested in
some
flies for some fulred leaders? I am looking for a furled leader for my
dry
fly fishing (river) which is normally done on a 9 1/2 foot 7wt rod or an
8
foot 5 wt rod. I'm not sure if I would need one or two leaders here. I
am
also looking for a furled leader for my 11 1/2 foot 7wt lake road. When
dry
fly fishing I normally fish two flys about 4 foot apart and when wet fly
fishing I will fish 3 flies. Again, I am not sure if one or two furled
leaders would sufice. If someone would like to swap some of my flies
for
some furled leaders please let me know. I normally tie wet and dry
Irish
lake flies. I tie a lot of river dry flies that we use over here.
Generally size 14 - 16. I especially like upwing drys with starling or
mallard for the upwing. I also tie some Irish Salmon Flies, shrimp
style
and hairwing. I would be happy to tie up a few of the flies above for
the
furled leaders that I would need. This would also give me a good excuse
to
get back to the bench as I have been away from it for way too long.
