Caddis for Kids 2003 is over. The dust has settled but pledges and donations are still rolling in. So far we are rapidly approaching the $2000 mark and this is not including the fly plate which still needs to be constructed. The latter is going to be quite a challenge as the flies tied by the panel (Alec Jackson, Stu Farnham, Nathan Keen, Pat Bolton, Mike Croft and Scott Howell as well as a few from Ronn Lucas who, unfortunately, couldn't make the event) are spectacular and numerous. This is going to be an impressive display when completed.
Last year's mark of 500 flies was surpassed by one. I had much time left but, as the saying goes "The mind was willing but the body was weak". Many thanks to those in the area that came to the event and also to everyone who sent in a donation. Your support and participation is greatly appreciated. Thanks also to Nathan Keen, Stephen Jackson and the entire crew at the Avid Angler in Lake Forest Park. Without their help and gracious hosting of the event, Caddis for Kids just wouldn't be the same. Thanks guys! Congratulations goes out to Richard Embry...the winner of the new St. Croix Rod/Cortland reel/SA line outfit. The marlin auction ended and I am now the proud owner of a 7' pet fish. Until next year... Don Johnson ===== Not so new but still under construction: http://www.geocities.com/salmn8r/northwestcountryflies.html "Skues me while I sink my fly!"
