"On this particular day, we were going over a boulder within the spray of
the falls, and found a brown trout in a hole about two feet deep and two
feet across. The trout was about as big as the hole, and was totally
stranded. I reached in and took him out by the tail. He was so tired from
trying to get out that he just lay there in my hands.
We took him down to the river and released him." ...

Mr. Brettell,

This is Warden Ketcham, of Crook County G&F, where this event occurred- by
your own admission. Please be advised that you will receive a citation
shortly for your wanton criminal activity with regard to the state's
wildlife.

Your criminal activity includes multiple counts:

1. Taking of wild game by illegal means, since by admission you caught the
trout with your hands, not with legal tackle.

2. Illegal transport of a game fish from one body of water to another,
i.e., from a pond to a river.

3. Illegally introducing a live fish into controlled waters.

Will Ketcham,
MG&F Dept.
