Joyce been following the thread and downloaded both softwares to help clean things up... apparently there are a couple different versions of spybot.... shareware, buyware, outright purchase....
the first one I loaded kept getting an error message
the second one was like you described.. identified problems, but wouldn't act on them
the third was a charm....
the one that was supposed to be for my OS was the one giving me errors... i wound up using a W98 version on a W95 system, and it worked out...
trial and error, I guess...
