Tom, not to worry, i didn't start tying until i was 43, (now 53), and i do wish i had started earlier, but hey, hindsight............lol. The more you tye, the better you'll get. No biggie, just go at your own pace and keep it fun. In time you'll find a nich, and take that to the next level. Make sure you buy good materials, good tools, and a good vise. Videos and books will help tremendously. Take alllllllllll the classes you can possibly manage, (time and $). And join a tying club, if there is one near you. If not, join TU, and or the FFF. You'll meet many tyers through those organizations. Plus you'll be helping out in others ways as well. Good luck, mark

Where are you in Vermont? I lived in Milton for about 2yrs. It's north about 20 mins from the Candian border.

I was at the BPS Warehouse in St Charles MO last December. They're still wiping the drool off the floor. AWESOME STORE!!!!!! Snowing in Vermont and we're in for the first big one of the year..Oh how I envy all you in the warmer climes!! Getting started tying this winter to kill cabin fever..at age 44, i figured it was about time. Tom-Vermont

    Hi Everybody,

I recently picked up a video that I thought was pretty good. It's a two tape set put out by Bass Pro Shops. It features Dave Whitlock as he shows you how to tie 4 of his flies and gives you a bunch of tips. I've watched the first tape (90 minutes) so far and I enjoyed it. It was only $10 so I figured I'd pass the info along. (No, I don't work for BPS).

Just thought I'd share,

Ken
