Wes, your in for a real treat and awakining.....................when you finally get a Gatti in your hands. If your not hip, find a Gatti rep in your area. There aren't many around. Depending on where you live, i might be able to help you out. Gatti rods are Italian.............the best graphite rods there are, IMHO. Fast as hell, smooth as a babies butt. Just like the cars,(Italian). I like that Redington, i tried it, nice rod. And we have a GLX also, but the Gatti is the ****. The have something goin' for them, that no other rod has........no spine. They figured out how to roll the graphite where it is consistant molleculary (spelling?) top to bottom, all the way around. Therefore, no spine, no week points, SMOUVVE. Don't get no smoother than SMOUVVE, lol. You gotta check it out! mark

Hi Tim,

We had this discussion on the list a short time ago, but just long enough past to have fallen out of the web-based archive.
Jimmy had a summary he might be able to repost.

I haven't found my ultimate reel yet, though have no complaints about my STH. However, I own a special edition Redington DFR 5wt. to die for. Just love that rod. If money were no object, I would also purchase a Loomis GLX.

What are people's favorite rods and reels?

I like my Ross Evolution 2 reel teamed up with a 9' 5wt. Sage SLT rod.
