Kool aid is easy as pie to dye with. Use sugar free Kool-aid, the stuff in envelopes.
Just make up as strong a mixture as you can get into suspension. Mix it up in a
mason jar or some microwavable container. Actually, a heavy ziplock bag works.

add a little bit of vinegar

Put in your feathers, the more the merrier. Marabou works really well for this. wet
the feathers thoroughly with the solution

Put the whole thing in the microwave for about 3 minutes, and then take a look at it.

You'll know when the dying is done when the water is clear. All the color will be in
the feathers. If you don't have enough feathers, pull some out and see if you have
the color you want.

Keep running the solution in the microwave until all the color is out of the water, or
the feathers are the color you want.

Rinse the feathers in a seive to remove the extra koolaid. Put the feathers in a mesh
bag, and go outside and spin them around your head to fling out the extra liquid.
Hang the bag in a dry place to allow the feathers to dry.
