I am using AK's approach to bleaching proteins, Clairol Lightner, 40% peroxide and ammonia. The feathers are not coming out 'bone' white after several hours of soaking in the solution. Does anyone have suggestions as to how to get 'bone' white, bucktail white from feathers that are mostly white to start?
