Got out to chase some steelies yesterday. Was a more typical steelhead day, cloudy and a small amount of drizzle. We hit Big Creek first without any luck at all. Didn't see or hear of any fish being hooked, heard same from a couple people that had fished gnat creek earlier. We headed over to the Clatskanie over on the coast to try out luck there. My buddy had two on briefly but that was it. We did see a few more fish but no takers. Never the less it was a nice day out and we saw plenty of wildlife. Best count we saw 6 deer and about 180 Elk. 150 of them were on the reserve of course where we saw one heard of 30 Bulls (all big ones). Just like any day spent with friends and family it was worth the time and effort just to be out.
