Good to hear from you guys on the VFB. I really injoy this list. How is the weather around the states? Anybody catching anything. Well my Fly tying classes started Saturday. see updates on the link below, more picture to follow When I get them.
http://www.deepcreekflyfishers.org/fly_tying.htm I had a great time on Saturday. I mean I learned a lot. Dave and Bud how thought the class were great. Lots of really nice folks showed up. Don't forget Wednesday is meeting night you guys, I have only been able to tie one fly a brassy today but it was with a bead. Behind the magnifier it looked like a huge bead. I just looked at it on a size 16 hook. Its ok. I feel sorry for the guys in the Mega Mayfly Swap Opening, Mike my Club President said My Red Fox Squirrel Nymph was ugly. He ask me if I used enough material on them, LOL I was so embarrassed I didn't want to tell him the were waited, and the lead was two sizes to big for the hook I used. LOL It was all I had at the time and this was my first fly. What's a body to do when confronted with this kind of situation? Dave Parker the instructor for our club said I should retie them and this time to use copper wire. I have decide to send them on as is and take the F for failed as a beginner. I should go out and buy 22 flys and send them along with the lousy ones I tied. What do you guys think? I don't have time to retie them and still get them to Jeff on time. Good news is for the guys in the Bead head fly swap, I am tying a brassy with a bead, I seem to have it down pat on a size 16. As for the Hornburg I have to get started on for the traditional Wet Fly Swap, I still have time to get good at it. I am confident that when I tie them up I will make you guys very happy. I was born in September so having said that I am a perfectionist. I am in need of some jungle cock feathers. Any help would be appreciated.
