Are you tying the hen hackle "soft hackle"
style?
Try one with pheasant back or belly feathers, soft
hackle style. I'm sure you won't be disapointed.

There is a small stream near me with a good
amout of native trout as well as stockies. I have been fishing there for years
and I have always used wet hackle peackock with a variety of assorted hen
hackles. This pattern has proved the best for me over the years. No matter
what the hatch -- I always catch fish.
