Thanks Joyce
That was a lot to take in, but I did.
I just happen to have some Lynda's yarn, it is white.
I have to tie up some of these Humpies for class.
My instructor wants us to have four different
styles of Humpies when we come back to class.
I never thought I would have home work when I took this class,
But I like it.
And it beets forgetting everything I learned in-between classes.

Steve, make your humpy wings out of a piece of Aunt Lydia's craft yarn
available at your nearest craft shop or out of Phentex yarn, available on
the internet. You can also use any Anton or acrylic yarn you have. Split the
yarn, on a smaller size 16 humpy, you only need one of the three strands of
Aunt Lydia's, tie it in on the top or, you can tie it under the hook and the
hook itself will split the yarn for you..You will still want to put a loose
wrap of thread around the wings on top of the hook to keep them a bit
together. Also, may I suggest, using a bit of foam for the body thus making
a "super humpy". Tie on the tail, tie on the split yarn wing, then tie on a
1/8 by about 2 inch piece of gray/tan foam starting just behind the wing and
tying towards the tail. Next, wrap over the foam, snugly but not too tight,
with your floss or Woolly nylon (my preference) in the color of your choice,
then bring the thread to just behind the wing and tie off the floss. Now
flip the foam over the top for the hump and tie it down, tie on your
hackle, spin,3 -4 in back, 2-3 in front, or however you like to tie it, and
tie off. Now, take the yarn sticking up and cut it the appropriate wing
length.. a snap, will float forever without floatant in the surfaces film
and the trout don't care that they are not made of deer hair. Joyce
