Any vice can be used by cutting the eye off a large salmon hook and filing the shank to a taper. the tube is pushed onto the tapered shank.  tie using only about 1/3 of the wing material you think you need.  the wing should reach the bend of the hook you will be using to fish.
A tube fly adaptor is available for about 12 dollars.
Tubes- try empty biro refils.
To keep the hook in line with the tube push a short length of rubber tube onto the rear of the tube and the eye of the hook into that.

Has anyone ties tube flies? These sound interesting. I think they would work
good on my waters here in the great lakes for steelhead and salmon that take
larger patterns that need to get down quickly. I just read Rick Kustich's
article on them. How can I adapt my Regal Vice to work on them? Any comments would
be great.
