Steve: I use a Nor-vise, and also the Auto-bobbin. I can't imagine tying on anything
else. After you use the automatic bobbin, and become accustomed to it, try switching
back to a regular bobbin and you will realize all the reasons that it is such a
valuable tool. Good luck.

Thanks Larry
I certainly will try different things and colors for my own fly box.
I tied late last night for the Dry fly swap,
its done now and I can move on and finifh the Bass fly swap.
I had just got a new Norlander auto bobbin so I got a burst of energy.
I also was directed to a web site that has really been a blessing, a step by
step.
God I love this sport.

Steve: The body color would/should be applied after the elk-hair is tied
on, but before it is pulled forward. Apparently the most popular colors are
red and yellow, but creativity abounds here, and I'll bet that there are a
lot of tiers on this list who use other colors for the Humpy body. Try a
chartreuse floss, or even orange chenille. How about tinsel. I've tried
them all. If you can make room for all the ingredients, you could try a
royal humpy. A peacock body is alway a good color.

Try some Humpies with out the wing. I've caught more trout with no
wing. Red, green, and yellow are good body colors.
