Rene -
The biggest problem to date has been getting reports from senders & receivers. I don't see how a web page that necessarily relies on reports from the senders and receivers addresses the problem.
I've not nagged people to provide me with information and maybe that's what's needed - someone (1 per list?) communicating with the sender and recipient to track receipt.
The red box is MIA (Missing In Action) due to lack of insurance and postal mishandling. The Blue box is somewhere in or on or over the Atlantic, between Steve Murphy and Mr. Ashley Strutt. Query whether tracking the boxes fixes that problem?

I don't think, that we have to publish the mailing addy on the web-site. We need the names of the participants in the order how they are listed on the mailing list. Remember, the list with the addies is in the box!
We need someone who modifies this list, as soon as a package is send or received.
Probably we grab some free server space (on one of the zero-fee servers) for this purpose only. Than we can elect 2 or 3 members, to keep track of the boxes. Maybe one tracker per list? If he does the updates per week, we should be fine.
Hosting this on an extra web-page makes it save. If we get hacked, only this little list with names is gone, nothing more.

Wes,
Originally, John had the mailing lists posted on a website, but took them down because EVERYBODY's mailing address was on the web on an unsecure site.

It's a great idea, and I have no problems with it, because how many people will be searching for "perps mailing lists" on google? But I can see where some problems may arrise with other users. So, I would check with those on the list before posting all of that info up. Just an idea.

Hi VFB:

I can handle the on-Web publication of the PERPS mailing list, as I have acres of available server space.

I also have a copy of the most current lists, though will touch base with Roger Cotner on this.

I think the most painless way of handling this would be to publish the individual geographic area mailing lists, then give Roger a user-editable narrative at the top of the page where he could easily update which box was where.

Everybody would get a chance (on a deadline) to doublecheck their listing for accuracy. After that time, updates will only be made on a time-available basis.

Just give me a little time, as we are trying to catch our business up from being away from it for eight days.

Again, kudos to Swapmeister John Martinez for the original idea and execution, and to Roger Cotner who has taken up the responsibility of ongoing tracking of the PERPS. I know I have gotten a choice of some of the nicest flies in the swap with the least hassle. It is an idea worth preserving.

Continue to pray for the Red PERPS box!!

Yours,

If anybody wants to take this on, I have all the original e-mails from John Martinez with the lists.

I'll defer to others with more expertise.

Steven and perps, maybe it is a good idea to setup or update a tracking page for this swap.
