I have found that often wax in a tube has ingredients to help it conform to
the needs of the container rather than fly tying. I haven't tried every wax
on the market and I have never had any Overton's wax. This is just a general
observation which led me to making my own. Bill

I bought my Green tube about 15 years ago at LL Beans. Found out in a
very short time that the old bee's wax was more to my liking. When I got
back into tying again in 1988 I was told "you have to have a tube of
Overton's Wax" so I bought it.
With the introduction of waxed thread I found I don't use any wax other
than for truly unruly materials.
I keep my Overton's on my traveling tying station and have turned down
up to 25.00 for it at some shows I have tied at. When my tying days are
over, I will give it to some new flytyer or is it fly tier. LOL
BTW Sowbug conformations will go out next week
